“To Zion” foi escrita por Lauryn Hill em homenagem ao seu primeiro filho, Zion David, nascido em agosto de 1997, e celebra a alegria que encontrou após a gravidez.
A música conta com a participação do lendário guitarrista Carlos Santana, cuja colaboração surgiu porque Hill já escrevia letras sobre os acordes de Santana desde a infância.
