A faixa “What’s on Your Mind (Pure Energy)” foi lançada como single em 1988 pela banda americana Information Society.
O subtítulo “Pure Energy” deriva de um sample da voz de Leonard Nimoy, personagem Spock, tirado do episódio “Errand of Mercy” da série Star Trek.
Na introdução da música há um trecho em que o personagem Dr. McCoy, interpretado por DeForest Kelley, diz: “it’s worked so far, but we’re not out yet.”
Também há um sample da voz de Richard Tatro, que interpreta o Android Norman, vindo do episódio “I, Mudd” da mesma série.
A combinação de samples de Star Trek confere à canção um caráter futurista que combina bem com o estilo synth‑pop da banda.
