“Little Wing” foi escrita por Jimi Hendrix e gravada pelo The Jimi Hendrix Experience em 1967, durante as sessões do segundo álbum da banda, *Axis: Bold as Love*.
A canção tem cerca de dois minutos e meio, sendo uma das mais curtas e melódicas de Hendrix, com arranjo que inclui guitarra, voz, baixo, bateria e glockenspiel.
A inspiração para a música surgiu depois do Monterey Pop Festival de 1967; Hendrix completou a composição em outubro daquele ano.
“Little Wing” foi lançada como faixa do álbum *Axis: Bold as Love* em dezembro de 1967 no Reino Unido e um mês depois nos Estados Unidos.
É uma das duas músicas do álbum que entraram no repertório de shows ao vivo do Experience, aparecendo em gravações posteriores como *Hendrix in the West* (1972) e *The Jimi Hendrix Concerts* (1982).
Em 2004, a revista *Rolling Stone* incluiu “Little Wing” na lista das “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”, posicionando‑a em 357.
