“Go Go Go (Down the Line)” foi lançada em 1956 como a música B do primeiro single de Roy Orbison na Sun Records, “Ooby Dooby”.
Foi a primeira composição escrita por Orbison, marcando o início de sua carreira como compositor.
Em 1958, o guitarrista e cantor Jerry Lee Lewis gravou a faixa na mesma gravadora, renomeando-a simplesmente “Down the Line”.
A gravação original de Orbison apareceu como B‑side, enquanto a versão de Jerry Lee Lewis ganhou destaque como um dos primeiros covers de música country‑rock na década de 1950.
