“Grace” foi lançada como o primeiro single do álbum de estreia de Jeff Buckley, também tendo um videoclipe oficial.
A melodia da canção surgiu naturalmente enquanto Jeff escrevia a letra, inspirada ao se despedir da namorada no aeroporto em um dia chuvoso.
O instrumental que deu origem à música se chamava “Rise Up To Be” e foi composto pelo colaborador de Buckley, Gary Lucas.
Gary Lucas foi convidado por Buckley para tocar na gravação de “Grace” (e também em “Mojo Pin”), trazendo os riffs principais que Jeff expandiu.
A canção foi apresentada em apresentações ao vivo desde 1991, antes mesmo do lançamento oficial do álbum.
