“Run to the Hills” foi lançada como o sexto single da Iron Maiden e como o primeiro single do álbum *The Number of the Beast* (1982).
É o primeiro single da banda com Bruce Dickinson nos vocais, embora a composição seja creditada apenas ao baixista Steve Harris devido a um acordo contratual que impediu a inclusão de Dickinson nos créditos.
A versão ao vivo incluída no álbum *Live After Death* (1985) foi reeditada em 2002, com toda a renda revertida para o fundo de combate à esclerose múltipla do ex-baterista Clive Burr.
