Embora inicialmente fosse o lado B do single “Take Me to the Pilot” nos EUA, DJs de rádio preferiram “Your Song”, que acabou substituindo o lado A e chegou ao número 8 na Billboard.
A canção foi incluída na trilha sonora de dois filmes marcantes: a versão de Ewan McGregor e Alessandro Safina em *Moulin Rouge!* (2001) e a interpretação de Taron Egerton em *Rocketman* (2019).
