A faixa “Highway to Hell” foi escrita por Bon Scott, Angus Young e Malcolm Young, sendo o riff principal criado por Malcolm Young.
O título da música e do álbum surgiu quando um repórter perguntou como era a vida na turnê; Angus Young respondeu que era “a fucking highway to Hell”, frase que ficou oficial.
Apesar de rumores sobre satanismo, a banda negou qualquer ligação, e Malcolm Young chegou a dizer que “a mãe dele o mataria” por essas acusações.
O álbum “Highway to Hell” foi o primeiro da banda a vender mais de um milhão de cópias e chegou ao 17º lugar nas paradas.
